Les Vergers Turcotte

Apple producer

Period of the Year

Mid-August to mid-October

In 1946, Rose Coulombe and Viateur Turcotte founded Les vergers Turcotte in Sainte-Famille on Île d’Orléans. Three hundred and fifty apple trees adorned their land. That same year, they made their debut at Marché Saint-Roch.

In the 1980s, their sons, Luc and François, took over the family farm and innovated. The new varieties of apples grown were a great success. The two brothers continue to produce traditional varieties that represent a sure value for their customers.

Today, the third generation of Turcottes is now very involved in our company, which now has 6,500 apple trees producing more than twenty varieties of apples. Standard apple trees are gradually being eliminated from our orchards, making way for dwarf apple trees that produce more beautiful fruit. Freshness and product quality are the guiding principles of our family business on a human scale.

Always at the forefront, we collaborate with MAPAQ for various research projects, with the technical support club for apple producers in the Quebec region and with RÉCUPOM for the development of new varieties.
